Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre East on Dec. 9, 2015, the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2015 was a huge success, both on and off stage.
The event raised $423,800 for BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation, with the funds used towards purchasing a much-needed multi-purpose ultrasound for the Newborn ICU. The equipment will go towards saving the lives of newborns from across British Columbia.
Prior to the gala dinner, guests were treated to a reception that featured a photo booth, silent auction items and photo opportunities with the three winners from last year’s pageant. During the dinner, Laurie Clarke, CEO of BC Women’s Hospital Foundation, presented a baby tile to Mr. Thomas Fung, Chairman and CEO of Fairchild Group, to express the Hospital’s gratitude towards the generous support of Fairchild TV. As well, “Man About Town” Fred Lee served as the celebrity auctioneer, as he hosted the Live Auction and Fund-A-Need portions of the dinner.
The 2013 MCVP winner Cindy Zhong and Fairchild Radio host Danny Lau co-emceed the gala dinner.
The evening was capped off by the pageant itself as the 10 finalists performed together, answered questions from the show’s presenters, and showcased their different talents. The winner was announced as Jennifer Coosemans, who will now represent Vancouver in the upcoming Miss Chinese International Pageant 2016.
