Cultural, Educational, and Enchanting Family Activities All Happening at Lansdowne Centre
Lansdowne Centre once again brought the community together for a memorable Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. This year, the event featured a giant moon, an enchanting lotus pond, and a lantern tunnel with riddle guessing, offering attendees a nostalgic and immersive experience.
The event aimed to promote cultural understanding and harmony, while raising awareness and funds for the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to support specialized healthcare and research in BC. The free, family event includes activities such as taking a photo on the bridge across an enchanting lotus pond, lanterns tunnel with riddle guessing, lacquer fan making workshop, Hanfu (traditional Chinese costume) experience, local artisan market, children’s arts & craft, and lots of prizes to be won. “With our deep roots in Richmond, we always celebrate the cultural festivities with our communities. I am especially excited that September 14th is actually the 47th birthday of the mall! While admiring the brightest moon of the year – the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the year, I understand that it also symbolizes bountiful harvest and family reunion, which is kind of similar to Thanksgiving. This year, we bring in the lotus pond and take people back in time with the Hanfu experience to appreciate the elegance of the Mid-Autumn festival. We also take this opportunity to support and give back to the community,” says Bronwyn Bailey, Marketing Manger, Lansdowne Centre.” |
