Lucky Tiger brings good luck to
Richmond Food Bank and donors at Lansdowne Centre
In times of pandemic and economic uncertainty, food security is more important than ever. Lansdowne Centre continues with the tradition of giving back to the community while introducing the first-ever Tiger guessing contest to support the Richmond Food Bank. Event runs from January 15 to February 15, 2022 to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. The giant, 1.2m tall, lucky tiger was stuffed with packaged food generously donated by Lansdowne T&T Supermarket and will be donated to Richmond Food Bank to support needy families after the event. Anyone making a suggested cash donation of $5 will have a chance to win an amazing prize and make a wish at the display. On top, Lansdowne Centre will match all cash donations up to $5,000. The person who guesses the weight or the closest weight of the packaged food will win $388 (in gift cards). Dignitaries including MP Wilson Miao, MP Parm Bains, Councilor Alexa Loo, Councilor Andy Hobbs, Councilor Carol Day and Mayor Malcolm Brodie attended the event opening ceremony, and the event received wide media coverage from Richmond News, Fairchild TV, Fairchild Radio, Omni TV, Ming Pao, Sing Tao, Lahoo.ca and more. There will also be a peach orchard with a meandering pebble path at the Centre Count to bring in the festivities to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. |
