17th Annual Winter Wonderland
Aspac Developments Ltd.
At the 17th Annual “Winter Wonderland Festival”, Aspac Developments Ltd. participated once again in the “Tree Lighting Ceremony” on December 2, 2017 at Richmond City Hall. Those in attendance included Joe Peschisolido, MP of Steveston Richmond East; John Yap, MLA for Richmond Steveston; Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie; City Councillors Bill McNulty and Derek Dang, Gary Wong, Vice President of Aspac Developments Ltd., community leaders, Rotary members and members of the community. Winter Wonderland is organized by the Richmond Sunset Rotary Club and proceeds from the 2017 event supported various charitable programs and initiatives locally and abroad. After the lighting of the giant City Hall Christmas Tree, guests were invited to join the Christmas carolling accompanied by Mayor Brodie on the piano. As part of its dedication to giving back to the community, Aspac Developments Ltd. has been the ‘Event Sponsor’ for this celebration for the ninth year in a row sponsoring $10,000 each year towards this worthy cause. In keeping with the “charity within charity” tradition, Aspac Developments gave back to the community in an educational manner supporting local elementary school libraries and promotes reading among youth. Through their donation of new Canadian books to elementary schools in Richmond, each elementary school library received books dedicated to Canada and its 150th birthday. As the population at Richmond public schools is diverse, this provided a fun and educational way for elementary school students to learn about Canada. |
